I assume therefore that he was the local bobby!nnDEATH: He died on the 4th March 1885, in service, of PHTHISIS (Wasting Away) & Heart Disease, having served in the Metropolitan Police Force as PC56748 since 21 April 1873. He started his career in 'T' Division (Hammersmith), and ended in 'P' Division (Peckham/Camberwell).
